ROAD FREIGHT SOLUTIONS
Interloc provides a range of road freight solutions tailored to our clients' needs, including dedicated line haul services between major South African cities using 6, 12, and 18-meter trucks. Our trucks are manned by dedicated crews and equipped with constant satellite and in-cab cameras for enhanced security.
LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD (LTL)
For smaller freight or when a full trailer isn't necessary, we offer Less than Truckload (LTL) shipping, suitable for cargo weighing between 30 and 15,000 kilograms.
BREAK BULK
Break bulk involves shipping cargo in loose pieces that haven't been consolidated on pallets, containers, or unit load devices. Cargo is transported from one IFS depot to another, similar to the operations of BAC's aircraft.
PALLET/SKIDS
Pallets or skids are flat wooden or plastic structures used to consolidate cargo in both air and RDF transport. Standard European pallet dimensions are 120 x 100 x 10 cm. These units facilitate easier handling of larger consignments and simplify loading and unloading. Pallets should always be securely strapped and shrink-wrapped for shipment, with a weight limit of 800 kg unless prior arrangements have been made.
DECK SPACE
Deck space refers to a designated area within a truckload body or trailer assigned to a specific customer. Customers can block book space by meter, with allocations based on requested deck space dimensions. This allows for loading of sensitive or irregularly shaped cargo without stacking.
DEDICATED LOADS
Dedicated loads involve a specific request from a customer to utilize a vehicle for transporting goods from a designated pick-up point to a drop-off point. Various combinations apply, including depo-to-depo, depo-to-customer, customer-to-depo, and customer-to-customer transactions.
